The word that fish (especially cod) use to wish each other luck. Also a play on the word “Godspeed”.

Codespeed is a wish for success, good flow, and rapid typing for one setting out on a feature implementation, bug fix, or any kind of programming task. It may also mean good luck.

me: I'm going to start implementing ticket 374 now.
manager: It's due for the release tomorrow... Codespeed!

coder: I'm going to try to work around the overflow bug in IE.
