Chef Mike

Chef mike is a codeword used in restaurants, and is used to tell customers that their food is going to be prepared in a microwave. Waiters will only use this codeword if they are bribed or are related to you in any way.
Tracy and i were planning to eat at the restaurant down the road, but when we got there and ordered drinks the waiter told us that the chef mike will be cooking our food. We just got up and left once we heard that.

Chef Mike

Chef Mike is a term used in the restaurant industry to describe restaurants that do not have chefs who actually cook, but only use a microwave. Many examples are shown in low-rated restaurants.
John: Dude, the only chef in that damn restaurant is chef mike!
George: Guess we aren't going there.

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
