A term used for when somebody is “hyping” or “exaggerating” someone or something up too much.

“The test was super hard today, I could barely even answer one question” said Jim. “bro stop amping, it wasn’t even that bad” said Terry.

Another term for ranting, starting a ruckus, and/or expressing discomfort & distress over something. Amping can also be considered venting your anger out.

Girl 1: "I can't believe she sucker-punched you in the face! I bet you were ampin the whole time after."

Girl 2: "You KNOW I'll get her back!"

Guy 1: "I can't stand her!"

Guy 2: "Dude, y u amping?"
Guy 1: "That teacher gave me a D+ on my final!"

The act of getting so cranked on any form of speed (amphetamine, dexmethylphenidate, methylphenidate, methamphetamine, cocaine, lisdexamfetamine, etc.) that you feel like you're on top of the world, right up until you start to come down and crash straight into the ground like a falling war plane.

Tristan popped a few Adderall and was amping so hard that he yelled "I own this world!", when suddenly he fell down the empire state building and sunk 100 feet into the ground and felt every bit.

Amping

(verb) Modifying an electric vehicle (EV) with the sole purpose of increasing the vehicle's performance. Involves any modifications of the EV's electrical components including but not limited to batteries, current (in amperes), microprocessors, inverter, electric motors, etc. Applies to any battery-powered electric vehicle.

(adjective) 'Amped': used to describe an EV which has been modified to increase the vehicle's performance.

(verb) "My neighbor has been amping his Tesla model X with hopes to win at the drag race."

"I'm planning to amp my EV next week at the shop."

(adjective) "That EV was quicker than I was expecting. It must be amped."

When caught yawning, claiming that you are only allowing more air to get into your lungs to increase your alertness, much like Apolo Anton Ohno does before speedskating races.

Manager - "Smith, stop yawning and pay attention"
Smith - "Sir, I was simply Ohno amping to get fired up for this thrilling 100 page Powerpoint presentation."
