Nothing was ever the same again.
My mind’s noise fell into silence.
From that emptiness, something stirred—
like remembering,
or the ache of remembering something lost.
Like someone returned from a coma
with a life still inside them
they can no longer reach.
Perhaps we are only echoes
of what no longer exists.
I know you—
not from now,
but from somewhere beyond memory.
I remember your energy,
the presence of your smile,
even from that very first time.
Something once existed—
and in me,
it survives only as forgetting.
Your roots remain in me,
stretching toward a nameless time.
Like broken images
in the static of childhood screens.
Sometimes a moment clears,
or a dream I cannot tell
whether it was sleep or waking.
Tell me…
do you remember too?
How I wish
just once
we could speak
of this unasked-for madness.
Do you feel it too?
Slowly, I will write it all for you—
