6-Up or “Six-up” is a slang term coined by rapper XO BLACKSTAR, used to describe the sinful nature of one’s own actions, beliefs or morals. Claiming to be “6-Up” probably means this person is an evildoer or devil worshipper.
“Cops and lawyers, Dons and Bishops,
They don’t like me they know I be 6-Up”
A signal among modern day hippies that law/drug enforcement was near. Named for the six lights that sat atop most old cop cars, it is a way to warn others without implicating oneself.
A derivative of Heads up, this term was widely used(shouted) in the lot before and after Phish shows in order to alarm surrounding bystandards that law enforcement was in the vicinity and to conceal any contraband immediately. It was often used on shakedownwhen an undercover officer was discovered, or a regular officer was on the prowl and somewhat hidden by the general crowd. It was also seen on a popular fan made t-shirt which used a parody of the 7Up logo and read "6 Up, The Uncoola".
Head #1: "6 Up!"
Head #2: "Shit, stash those goo-balls and caps!"
A codeword, used by Rainbows and Lot Kids of the music festival/hippie scene, to heed warning of mounted police officers (police officers on horseback) in the area.
Police often ride horseback in larger hippie-gatherings such as Rothbury Music Festival and most Rainbow Gatherings, so as to parole large spans of land in a reasonable amount of time.
The term "g up gitty up" is designed to help unsuspecting hippies who are holding drugs, without incriminating yourself.
