The act of promising to attend something with your friends, and then the day before the event come up with some sort of implausable excuse to get out of it.

Person 1: "Wheres John today, he said he'd come along with us...?"

Person 2: "He's going to see his uncle today.... looks like he decided to pull a dooley on us."

Pulling a Shayan

When you have a short period of time left on a test and you're only less than halfway done with it, it's called pulling a Shayan. Also known as procrastination but specifically pertaining to taking tests and exams. (The reason it's Shayan and not another name is because it means "deserving" or "worthy effort" in Middle Eastern dialects.)

Guy #1: Dude did you see Raine struggling on number 5?
Guy #2: Yeah dude, she was totally pulling a Shayan!

when someone at the beginning of a class takes the hall pass and leaves for the period only to return when there are five minutes left

person 1: Mr. ___, can I please take the pass?
Teacher: ok (Person 1)
You: Oh man (person 1) might pull a grant today
