An emotion mask is something referenced my Spade while taking about reading people better, as described Spade said "Everyone wears a mask, the mask they chose will affect the rest of their life, some people get lucky and pick a good one, others aren't as fortunate. Not all masks are unintentional, some people choose one to hide their real feelings. Emotional Slime

When someone projects their negative emotions or opinions on you, you may experience emotional sliming. This feeling is similar to having metaphorical slime sticking to your skin, and it's tough to remove. It's the opposite of things that are easily shrugged off or not taken too seriously. Emotional sliming can linger, be very uncomfortable, and not fun to deal with.

When my friend and I had a disagreement, she responded with negative and opinionated comments that made me feel like I was wearing her emotional slime.
