A made-up Irish term by the most amazing guy I've ever known.

A soddy bott is a negative person, a party pooper. They always see the glass half empty.
The term can also be said to confuse a fellow American.

Me: even though I seem like a negative bum

Him: in Ireland we call it a Soddy Bott

Me: xD Soddy Bott

Him: I completely made that up...

Soldier Allergies

The slight moistening of a soldier/ex-soldier's eyes when they remember a fallen comrade. Can also apply to anyone who has lost someone close to them. They're not crying, they're just overcome with allergies is all...

Around June 27th, 2013, a young injured airman passed away in Florida after suffering injuries from an I.E.D. in Iraq. I'm sure his fellow airmen must get a few soldier allergies thinking about him now and then.

Sometimes I think about Papa and the stories he used to tell us. I'm getting a slight case of soldier allergies just typing this...
