Indie Bums

Indie bums are people who base their lives around indie music eg. Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Stone Roses Etc..
You will find that there are often more 'Indie' Boys than girls, this is because indie boys like to hang around town in music shops shouting about who knows more music than the next. Indie bums are like chavs in a way...being that they have their own set of words like amazing, Wicked, Cool Etc. The choice of clothing is tight jeans or "trendy" baggy jeans, Most love to wear jumpers - Stripey if possible. Footwear is mainly converse or some make of trainer that 'no one else has got. And finally the hair...always has to be long and look 'Messy' - Basically how Ian brown has his!

Indie = independent (usually rock-orientated) music

Indie rock = full one oneself (at least quite often)

To "be cool" with the other indie rock folks, I must have an extensive record collection with minimal well-known rock titles, have a working turntable and plenty of vinyl to go with it, easily dismiss others, think I'm better, over analyze others, and overall have an attitude that makes people not want to associate with the scene. ... nice job, everyone. nice job

So you better learn about the latest indie band before you aren't cool.

I told him I liked Lifehouse and Coldplay and he just called a mainstream whitebread. His insults make no sense... he loves indie rock.

Someone who styles himself with his own choice of clothes without big labels like ambacrombiklrjfas and bitch, wears there hair like they dont care much. Does a lot of art different styles and listens to a lot of indie bands like the white stripes, the gorillaz, the hives, the vines, and so and on and so forth. They are also interested in a lot of random things like Philosophy and Cooking and The da Vinci code for no damn reason.

These people stick to their own clichés and rarely participate in sports, work out or exercise, hang out at clubs, or listen to anything with musical talent. Indie dudes become English teachers and corrupt young minds with liberal propaganda, while indie chicks usually become art teachers b/c of their irrelevant academic concentrations. Indie kids usually are very pale as they like the emoish white skin weird clothes look.

Indie kid: "well im off to philosophy club then off to the diner to smoke 2 packs of cigarettes and discuss City of the Caterpillar’s song meanings."
