A freedom cake is a dessert baked in the United States on or around the 4th of July Independence Day holiday. It can be a cake of any sort, decorated with white frosting on top, accompanied by blueberries arranged in a square on the top left corner and horizontal rows of strawberries or red raspberries running across the remainder of the cake's surface. This configuration depicts the American flag, hence the name.
Jane didn't know what to bring to the 4th of July picnic until her mother suggested baking a Freedom Cake in order to make use of the blueberries and strawberries they had just bought.

The popular kids hang out in the lobby while the outcasts live in hot topic. The girls don’t leave Sephora or Ulta. While the guys hang out in footlocker. For some reason no one from Freehold actually goes there. It’s only kids from Manalapan. People don’t even include Freehold they just call it “the mall.” Since there is no where else to go for miles everyone goes here and gets yelled at by the security gaurds. On the typical weekend you can go on your Snapchat and see “Who’s here?” with a typical mirror selfie. People drink their Starbucks or eat their rolled ice cream for a few hours until there mom can come pick them up.
