Herd Therapy

Herd therapy occurs when a large enough portion of a population undergoes therapy or counseling and thereafter has the tools and vocabulary to aid those around them who haven't gone to therapy.

As a person who's never seen a therapist, Rick certainly is in touch with his emotions. Perhaps it's because everyone around him has. He's undergone herd therapy.
