Scoble Scale

The Scoble Scale is a Software Engineering term invented to fill the need to accurately describe your annoyance level to other co-workers. This is based on the Scoville Scale used to measure the pungency of peppers, which is based on a subjective rating by test subjects. In this case, the subjectivity is because annoyances can differ between people, but at least there's still a way to communicate it.

1 Scoble Unit is equal to the annoyance perceived from taking a 45 min train ride into town for a meeting organized by a manager that takes less than 5 minutes to conclude, then have to ride the train back.

Since the scale is subjective, it theoretically has no upper limit, but for the sake of simplicity we try to cap it to 11.

"Oh man, that meeting was horrendous. Definitely a 5 on the Scoble Scale."

Scoblerian

Adjective describing the painfully awkward appearance of a high tech device, possibly worn by a person. The person or device in question is trying much too hard to appear "Futuristic" and instead forms an image that is hard to look at.

"Scoble" in this case refers to technology evangelist Robert Scoble, who in 2013 posted a picture of himself in the shower while wearing Google Glass. The photo created a geeky reputation around Glass that contributed to Google ending the lineup two years later.

"Ugh, have you seen the new Cybertruck? Postively Scoblerian. They're trying WAY too hard."

Scobly

Scobly is the term when you feel love sick but also sleep deprived. It's where you are unbearably wanting a person that makes you drained and seem so lonely.

They make me feel so scobly.

I feel scobly when I see videos of other people being happy with eachother.
