A 4x4 truck or SUV that has been built or modified more for street use rather than off-roading. Typically lowered with street tires, along with other modifications to improve performance, handling, braking and cornering.

This term originates from Devon, England and was first coined in the late 1960's on the children's television programme "HOW". It refers to the dance performed by sparrows when they hop from paving slab to paving slab in search of seeds or other food.
