The original latin translation was "leaf shaped", the spanish used it to mean shaped like a cigar or elongated circle. The British used it to mean rectangle or elongated square.
The USA uses the Spanish translation, meaning cigar shaped.

Obaloo

A strange and wonderful creature that lives in a cocoon.
The Obaloo sleeps for long periods at a time and can become ferocious if sleep deprived or not fed at regular intervals. When not in the cocoon, the Obaloo likes to potter at a leisurely place. This can sometimes get interrupted though by the mating calls from the Obaloos paaaartner, Baloo. Whilst the Obaloo is known to be highly clean, the Baloo is a distant cousin of the raccoon and carries a potent smell.

The Obaloo was agitated at having been woken up whilst asleep in the cocoon.
