Nickname for Asbury Park, New Jersey.

The name was derived primarily as a reference to the post-riot urban decay experienced by the city in the latter half of the 20th century, but also is illustrative of the lack of adequate street lighting on many side streets.

Dark Souls Syndrome

After hours of playing the masochistic gamer's favorite - Dark Souls, and ofcourse, dying and dying and dying and getting raped by that dragon on the bridge and dying and dying and dying and dying and dying...

Did I mention you die a lot in this game?

Anyway, after a while of playing Dark Souls, encountering seemingly impossible boss fights, losing thousands of souls over dying and even starting a new character because your previous one had shitty statistics, you start to become REALLY rude and mean to everybody due to the built up madness caused by the above reasons, and when you finally manage to get through and feel immense joy, the people you offended might not share your joy.

Remember kids: Dark Souls is bad for your mental health.

Frank: Hey Joey, wanna go out for some pizz--

Joey: OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TRYING TO KILL THIS BOSS!?

Frank: Geez! calm down! I think you might be developing the Dark Souls Syndrome!

Dark Brotherhood

The Dark Brotherhood, from the game Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (which is a kickass game), is an unofficial guild, or a grouping of people. These people are actually deadly assassins,who are hired by people all over the land of Cyrodiil. In order to make dealings with them, you must offer up someone's life, like maybe a family member, or someone close to you, which makes you decide if it's really worth it. The Dark Brotherhood tends to make their assassinations look as though they were accidents, but some people will suspect a lot of deaths to be their doing. In my opinion, they have the best quests and things to do.

-Did you hear about what happened to poor Baenlin? That minotaur head he had on a plaque on his wall dropped right on his head and killed him!
-Idiot, it wasn't any accident. It was the Dark Brotherhood, you should know that. Baenlin's nephew wanted that piece of estate to himself for a while now, so he requested Baenlin's death.

Dark Matter Reactor

A reactor that runs on dark matter, usually started up via power laser ignition to expand dark matter in the center of the reactor superstructure. Currently handled inside of Quantum Science Multipurpose Labs. Although, it is currently undergoing a switch of companies from Quantum Science to Pinewood Builders.

John: Hey Bill, have you seen the Dark Matter Reactor ignition sequence?
Bill: No... did you get a recording of it?
John: HELL YEAH!
