Green Borough

Green Borough is slang for the London Borough of Greenwich in South London.
It is nicknamed 'Green' borough because the council logo is green, the street bins are green, and 'Greenwich' contains the word 'Green'.

Neighbourhoods in Greenwich Borough are Thamesmead, Woolwich, Plumstead, Abbey Wood, Shooters Hill, Charlton, Greenwich, Kidbrooke, Eltham and part of Lee Green.

Green Borough is also sometimes used to refer to the London Borough of Bromley, also in South-East London. Neighbourhoods in this borough include Penge and Beckenham.

Boroughphobic

The fear and loathing that many Manhattan residents have of traveling to any of the outer boroughs of New York City, including Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island; patina of snobbery and sense of entitlement that Manhattan residents feel about where they live.

All of my friends in Manhattan refuse to visit me in Queens. They think I should always travel to them. They are completely boroughphobic.

Noun. 1. An inhabitant of New York, New York that was actually born and raised on Manhattan Island itself.
1a. One that is a native of the borough of Manhattan, with intentions to continue living in Manhattan, alongside fellow boroughbreds, imports, and non-boroughbred New Yorkers.
1b. Young children that have already learned how to hail a cab at 9 months of age.

Adj. 2. Used to describe people who don't believe in the NYC subway system or walking more than a half-block to their destination; instead will employ the use of taxis--even if its to the next Starbucks up the street--or the one across from that.

Tom was born in Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side, went to a P.S. in the city through highschool, now lives and works in SoHo; therefore, he is boroughbred.
