crappy type of music that indie scene kids will call independent/non-mainstream music. its not mainstream because it sucks, and it usually ends up just being emo anyways.

indie sucks. id rather listen to bands that everyone knows about because theyre good. thats why everyone knows about them.

indie is another word for independent. someone who wants to be something other than wot everyone else is. the problem is theres only so many things u can be so in the end indie is just another word for someone who thinks there different by wearing all the same stuff the other different people wear.

Kind of like an emo in denial.

INDIE: i'm so different and independent; i dont wear any of this adidas rubish or listen to "rock". i wear converse and listen to music people have never heard of... like muse and other famous bands.

Kind of contradictionary.

indie snob

a person who just sometimes in mi friends case changes over night to one and automatically hates and bashes all teh bands they like say like a week before they are absolutely asking to get beaten up and porbably will by people like me who apparently doesnt listen to real music..i listen to metal and thats nto real? i ask them whats real they say i cant say so whatever if ur friend becomes one of these immedialty try to change them or get rid of them if ur life is all about music..

Indirect insult

When your pissed off at your boyfriend so you write about him on Urban Dictionary as a way of expressing your anger.

Similar to an indirect compliment except it's out of hate

An example of an indirect insult would be:
Mike
A guy with a small penis and is a total asshole and wah wah wah complaining because I have no other way to say he is a bad person without really doing anything.

This is literally the same as writing angry letters and not sending them, except this way you feel like you have a better chance of getting people to agree with you.

Urban Dictionary was not made to be a place where you could bitch about your problems to others who don't really give a shit. If you think this is a good way to let out your anger then you are a dipshit.

Indiehead

adj.

Derived from the adj./band "radiohead." When one attempts to be/is a pretentious, all knowing, music lover; those who will describe a band by saying they sound like a band that you've never heard of. Known to have an extensive collection of vinyl albums. If you try to match wits with this person, there is no way that they will take you seriously. These people can be usually be found in independent record stores. Their music taste is extremely exclusive, but within that genre, spans it's history. The word usually is intended to have a negative connotation, although in rare cases, can be used as a compliment.

That kid thinks he's such an indiehead, but he's so much like everyone else, he doesn't realize it.

I swear, the guy's the real life High Fidelity, a complete indiehead.
