Metamemetic Theory

The study of the higher-order rules and conditions that govern which memes spread and how meme ecosystems evolve. It doesn't look at individual memes, but at the "physics" of the memetic environment: platform algorithms that boost outrage, cognitive biases that make us susceptible to certain ideas, network structures that accelerate virality, and the evolution of anti-memes (ideas designed to suppress other ideas). It’s the ecology and epidemiology of thought itself.
Example: A Metamemetic Theory analysis of a political election wouldn't focus on a specific campaign slogan (a meme). Instead, it would model how the algorithmic amplification of anger on social media creates a fitness landscape where simplistic, divisive memes outperform complex, nuanced ones, systematically shaping the entire informational environment in which the election occurs.

Metamaterialism

A sophisticated form of materialism that has incorporated its critics—a materialism that acknowledges the reality of consciousness, meaning, and experience while insisting they are ultimately material in some expanded sense. Metamaterialism doesn't reduce mind to neurons; it expands matter to include mind. It suggests that matter may be more complex, more strange, more capable than traditional materialism allowed—perhaps matter itself has experiential properties, or gives rise to genuinely novel phenomena that are still material in origin if not in character. It's materialism that has learned from its critics and grown.
Metamaterialism "I used to be a simple materialist: everything is particles. Then I studied consciousness and realized particles don't explain experience. Now I'm a Metamaterialist: matter is richer than we thought, capable of generating mind, meaning, maybe even spirit. Not abandoning materialism—expanding it."

Miami girls' trip

The doomed stereotypical trip that a group of girlfriends takes to Miami. Factors like the stress of planning/travel, forced proximity, and finances cause tensions to rise, often resulting in some kind of fight. The friend group is irreparably damaged upon returning home.

Any ill-fated trip by a friend group can embody the Miami girls' trip. The friends do not have to be girls and the destination does not have to be Miami. If the group trip ruined your friendships, you've had the MGT experience.
Things were never the same between them after the Miami girls' trip.
