Meal Friend 

A friend that one has for the sole purpose of going out to meals with. A meal friend will never be invited to go on vacations with or to any real plans. They are simply there to accompany you to a sit down meal.

I can't wait to try that new restaurant with one of my meal friends.

A "friend" that is made for a small amount of time. A person to talk to in movies or at a event. As soon as it ends. You have no contact and are strangers once again.

" You were talking to that girl a lot during the movie, you get her number?"
