THINGS-ite

A THINGS-ite is a fan of the cult classic canuxploitation feature film THINGS which was originally released on VHS in 1989 and has been re-released by Intervison Pictures Corp on July 12th, 2001

The term THINGS-ite was originally coined by super THINGS fan Steve Szczepaniak of Fenlon Falls, Ontario who referred to himself in a message to star of the movie Barry J. Gillis as a THINGS-ite. Gillis quickly realized that all fans of the movie from that point on would be known as THINGS-ites.

After my first viewing of THINGS, I knew that I was officially a THINGS-ite.

think tank

A think tank is a research institute or other organization providing advice and ideas on problems of policy, commerce, and military interest, and are often associated with military laboratories, corporations, academia, or other institutions. Usually this term refers specifically to organizations which support multi-disciplinary theorists and intellectuals who endeavor to produce analysis or policy recommendations.

Contrary to popluar belief, a think tank is not mutually exclusive to any political party and/or organization. Media reflection makes it seem that conservatives/Republicans use think tanks more than liberals/Democrats only because conservative think tanks have far more press releases.

Thanksgiving

Modern Definition: An American tradition where people gorge on turkey until they puke and visit their relatives to eat even more turkey. Usually the stores start to get flooded with Christmas shoppers at this time.

Real meaning: Originally celebrated by the Pilgrims (early north-American settlers) as a remembrance of the time when they took full advantage of the local Native American tribes' knowledge of the land, invited them all over to a feast, slaughtered them all the next day, settled on their land, and looked westward to the vast, unconquered land that lay ahead of them.

I had barbecued pork ribs and fries on Thanksgiving day. To Hell with turkey. (heh heh heh)
