I was taking the Amtrak to NYC and noticed some man pigeons just north of Penn Station.

Stair pigeon

Someone who sits in stairways, blocking the ability of others to use them for their intended purpose. Applies particularly to double-decker transit vehicles, such as Metra trains in Chicago, IL, USA.

The lack of available seats on the train caused some passengers to become stair pigeons.

Clay Pigeons

A term referring to when you are in a business meeting and everyone is at a standstill on new ideas or a compromise. Nothing has progressed after hours. So everyone throws new, lucid, off-fangled ideas out into the open. It's a metaphor that comes from a hunting exercise, where to prep for a hunt, one shoots clay pigeons instead of real pigeons. You're just throwing stuff up in the air -- hopefully something hits. Akin to throwing darts until someone hits close to the bullseye.

Nick: Hey, Alissa Heinerscheid, we've been at this business proposal for hours and it's going nowhere. Let's just throw up some clay pigeons and see if something hits. I'll let you start.

Alissa Heinerscheid: Well Nick there's this one LGTBQ+ influencer out there...

Nick: Get the FUCK OUT OF MY OFFICE! (Holds recording device to his mouth) Note to self: No more trannie-influencer-ideas and hey, waiter, "I'll take two clay pigeons to go".

Game Pigeon Purgatory

When you’re playing any Game Pigeon game (usually Crazy 8) with your friends and one of them leaves or turns their phone off, meaning they cannot complete their turn and you or your friends are trapped in an endless purgatory where nobody can move on to their turn because it cannot become their turn.

The only way to exit this Game Pigeon purgatory is to quit and make a new game, excluding the previously absent player.

Person #1: Wait, why isn’t Lauren going? It’s her turn.
Person #2: She turned her phone off. Nobody else can play now. Guess we’re trapped in a Game Pigeon Purgatory.
