Obi-Wan Truth

An answer that on the surface seems true, but upon deeper inspection covers a fuller truth. The concept is credited to Obi-Wan of Star Wars fame, where he told Luke that his father was dead, only to later qualify that statement that his father, Darth Vader, was alive but not the man he used to be.

The father was not prepared to have 'the talk,' so he gave an Obi-Wan truth, telling the children that babies were created when two people love each other very much.

After cheating in a relationship, the cheater has 2 options to move on. Guilt with either lead them to telling the full story, risk the consequences and begin the process of rebuilding trust with their partner, or they can tell the trickle truth and only give out the minor details, hiding the full story.
