When someone dosen't return phone calls or text messages. Most commonly used when trying to develop a relationship with someone.

The girl seemed pretty into me when I met her at the bar, but when I called her the next day, I got total radio silence.

cone of silence

An imaginary zone from which sound or discussion can't escape. The cone of silence is used to keep something quiet or private. Most often applied to spoken communication, but can also apply to writing or email.

From a running gag on the TV show "Get Smart" in which a plexiglass device would lower from the ceiling and cover the heads of two speakers, so that their conversation couldn't be spied upon. The cone of silence rarely worked correctly on TV, and usually isn't much better in real life.

Employee 1: Hey, I just overheard your boss talking about you. You won't believe what he said.

Employee 2: Let's take this one to the cone of silence.

Jay And Silent Bob

Two characters that have appeared in all save one of NEw Jersey director Kevin Smith's movies, Smith plays Silent Bob with Jay played by friend Jason Mewes. The characters are two drug dealers who spend a lot of time hanging outside of the quickstop in Leonardo New Jersey. Jay is a confident, foul mouthed, sex obsessed guy with a pretty low IQ. whereas bob is a genious and (nearly) mute, only speaking once or twice in each movie.

They have appeared in Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob. They did not appear in Jersey Girl as it was not part of Smith's Jersey Trilogy, but they are appearing in Clerks 2.

Silent Hill Syndrome

Silent Hill Syndrome (abbreviated SHS) is a rare but serious disease, most commonly caused by prolonged exposure to the game, Silent Hill 2. (hence the name)

Symptoms include but are not limited to insomnia, night terrors, hallucinations of hearing sirens, extreme fear of hearing said sirens, loss of bladder control after sirens are done, and in the worst cases, hallucinations of seeing Pyramid Head standing over your bed.

SHS is a very dangerous disease, but can easily be counteracted by suicide.

After finishing Silent Hill 2 last night, a firetruck passed by my house. I spent the whole night wide crying and smelling of urine.

Diagnosis? Silent Hill Syndrome.

Cure? Handgun.
