a substitute for shit in a situation where you can't curse words. e.g. a high school sporting event, a youth soccer game. (very useful when you have gotten halfway to making a curse word mistake, a faux pas, shit morphs into shingle quite naturally.)

Don't think you sound odd, you sound polite in front of other people's kids.

Oh my, shingle, that was a horrible call.

Singles Awareness Day

February 14 (valentine's day, of course, for those who are in a relationship) For those without a significant other, the advertisements, cards, flowers and attention given to this particular day make one acutely aware of one's lack of couplehood.

For Singles Awareness Day, I bought myself great chocolate, sexy heels and a new pair of earrings. It helped me avoid the desperate action of finding a man to date just so I wasn't alone on V-Day.

Singles' Rebellion Day

Celebrated on February 14. It is where single people don't like how Hallmark and other stores make a big idea of Valentine's Day and feel no point of having a Valentine. Also single people don't celebrate it with some exceptions and are disgusted with how couples make a big deal about it. Couples tend to more lovey dovey on this day.

Hey Happy Valentine's Day.
I don't celebrate Valentine's Day.
Then what do you celebrate?

A day in which we celebrate being single, screw valentines day! A day in which you just get beyond drunk and can bang whoever you want with no ramifications, because it's singles day! Singles day is only to be celebrated in the summer in which beaches, beer, bikinis, shots and sweaty nights are prime. So screw valentines lets get drunk and celebrate singles day!
