(also 9 O'clock watershed)

The rule whereby British TV companies can't show "adult" programmes before 9pm.

The Urban Dictionary would certainly be subject to the 9 O'clock rule.

Rule 86 Paragraph 4 of the Man Code states, "If an adequately attractive female is within your presence, you are obligated to ask to view said female's breasts."

cardinal rule

In regards to friendship, the cardinal rule is never dating your friend's ex-boyfriend. When a close friend and their hunny break up, being a friend means you dont try to date, mack, get with, or hook up with the ex. Breaking this rule defiles friendship and ruins bonds and all friendly love with the rule breaker in the circle of friends.

After Max broke up with Sid, Alexis, a 'friend' of Sid, broke the cardinal rule and started dating Max less than a week after the break up. Sid and Alexis' friendship was ruined and Sid soon learned that no one gave two squirts of piss about her emotions, regardless or what was said.

The unwritten driving rule that if you're pulling up to a stoplight and right lane is empty, you are not not turning right, and the left lane has less three cars then you move over to the left lane.

This dick in front of me didn't abide by the three car rule, now I'm stuck at the longest light in the city.

lost cat rule

An accepted procedure, custom, or habit governing conduct with regard to a lost person at a beer festival. The lost person is treated like a lost cat. Not all cats are lost or want to be found and will be treated as such.
