ranger shot

A method used by soldiers to quickly ingest the instant coffee found in MREs.

Typically, one pours the contents of the instant coffee packet directly into the mouth, followed quickly by a swig of water to dissolve the grounds and wash it down. If feeling particularly creative, one may add the included sugar packet to the instant coffee packet prior to taking the shot.

This allows the caffeine contents of a medium sized cup of coffee to be swallowed in a matter of seconds. This is usually a last resort for soldiers who must remain awake, because the high comes quickly and is often followed by a severe loss of energy.
Platoon SGT: Those of you on fire watch MUST remain alert tonigt, take ranger shots if you have to, but we move out at 0400.

Ranger-cooker

The Blackhawk helicopter, aka Crash-hawk, as it relates to that chopper's propensity to crash or have a "hard-landing" for no particular reason, and then summarily catch fire and/or explode so as the helicopter's occupants, usually hapless army light-infantrymen, are burned and roasted into crisy-critters.
"Another Ranger-cooker went down outside BIAP yesterday:
One-team of Rangers trapped-inside,
One-team of Rangers kentucky-fried."

Ranger fans

The shame of Scotland, like to sing songs about child abuse and are unwelcome every where they go.
A true rangers fan will use his giro to buy the new top rather than feed his 12 kids.
Ranger fans have got their club fined twice by Uefa and taken before the SFA because of their behavior.

Ranger Sit-Ups

n. Named for the U.S. Army Rangers, an elite group of soldiers.
Commonly done as a military initiation joke, the subject is blindfolded, and two people hold his shoulders down. Another soldier (more commonly one who has been in the service for a while) stands with his pants down so that when the other two release the subject, his face plants right in the standing soldier's ass-crack.
"Man, my buddies thought it would be cool to have me do Ranger Sit-ups. Even the sarge was in on it..."

"Alright, private. Time to try your luck at Ranger Sit-ups."
