A poète maudit (French: accursed poet) is an expression to describe an artist with a tortured soul or living a life outside society. The term came from the French literature into wider usage since Verlaine's anthology, now used everywhere, Originally it was used just for the writers but then it became a name for artists in general whose lives and art are outside or against their society or Abuse of drugs and alcohol, insanity, or even for creative artists or their work insufficiently appreciated by contemporaries; unsung, undeservedly neglected...

# Basquiat was famous in the art world. Drugs, drink, and sex, then devastated, his genius. He died of a drug overdose, his unhappy story turn to the myth of the poète maudit.

# My neighbor is a real poète maudit, he has been writing music for 20 years but still unappreciated despite his talent, now he gets depressed...

# Kurt Cobain was a soulful, charming, talented, a sublime poète maudit whose every waking moment was a rebellion against the world around him.

artist vs poet

An awesome pop-punk band descending from Dallas, Texas. The band consists of 5 members: Tarcy Thomason (vocals), Craig Calloway (guitar), Joe Kirkland (guitar), Joe Westbrook (drums), and Jason Dean (bass). Their tour manager is a lamb/sheep with the name of Milton Dean, which Jason forgets to bring on tour! So as a replacement, they must use their pet hippo, Jacoby. This group of guys is usually talked by 2 common females by the names of Audrey and Anyssa. You can frequently find them commenting on their myspace.

CAUTION: Artist Vs Poet may burst into random screaming!

Anyssa: Hey did you hear about that awesome band?
Audrey: Oh! Artist Vs Poet?
Anyssa: YEAH! that one! I just commented Tarcy, JoeK, Craig, JoeW, Jason, and Milton!
Audrey: OHHH ME TOO!

poletential

The possibility that a person will end up working a stripper pole at some time in his/her life.

Certain factors in a young person's life can add to chances that the person will end up in the sex trade industry. A bad experience in Catholic school, broken families, inbreeding, drug addiction and general sluttishness can all be early indicators of a high poletential for a sleazy future.

Those skanky looks give her a high poletential.

Her daddy abandoning her has left her with serious poletential.

Every hit of meth is increasing her poletential by a factor of 2.
