In Computer Science, a Marathon Method is a method or function that does everything and the kitchen sink. Noobs can't break a decompose a problem so they end up creating methods that do everything in very procedural manner.
I have to refactor this code, these marathon methods are killing me they do everything and you can't re-use anything.

1. A public relations strategy frequently used by government agencies, corporations and law enforcement officials. It means "feed them manure and keep them in the dark."
The goal is to delay any public disclosure of information as long as possible by releasing half-truths, distortions and useless information to the media.
Origin of the Metaphor: Farmers use manure, millet and recycled wood chips to grow mushrooms in dark, steamy rooms. Hence, "feed them manure and keep them in the dark."

Detective: "That reporter from the News-Tribune keeps calling me about our runaway child case. What should I do?"
Police Chief: "Try the Mushroom Method. He'll lose interest after a few days and move on to something else. I've seen it work a million times."

Person 1: Ugh..I`m bored.
Person 2: How come?
Person 1: I dunno. Just because? Aren't you bored, too?
Person 2: No, not really. How about you?
Person 1: I just told you I was..
Person 2: Yea, but isn't it possible that you could've changed your state of mind while you were talking?
Person 1: I guess, but..what the hell?
Person 2: What?
Person 1: Why do you keep asking me questions, dammit?!
Person 2: Why do you keep responding?
Person 1: Well, you're my friend so I should listen to you, right?
Person 2: Why are you asking me?
Person 1: Because you're here..?
Person 2: Is that a question?
Person 1: Screw this. *leaves*

When playing caps (2 teams of 2 throwing beer caps into cups) the Boehme Method is when an individual only drinks on each 3rd cap made (1 full beer). The term "Boehme Method" comes from a former caps player who only plays using the method described above.
