South Philly Slide

Driving through several consecutive stoptional intersections on a street in South Philly. Because the majority of South Philly's intersections are four-way stops, and intersections are so close to one another, you don't ever drive fast between the stop signs, but you don't really stop at the signs either -- you just slide right through them.

I drove from Gray's Ferry to Pennsport the other night, but I wanted to grab a hoagie on the way, so I did the South Philly Slide down Dickinson.

A phrase meaning to be betrayed by another. Originated during the slave trade in America. Selling a slave "down the river" would uproot the slave from their from spouses, children, parents, siblings and friends.

I can't believe that my manager said that project failure was my fault. I was really sold down the river on that one!

tray slidin'

When you only have a front wheel drive car, Steal some mcdonald trays, or where ever you go to eat and put them under your rear tires and put the emergency brake on, It will be the same as if you had a RWD car, basically it will do turn arounds in place if it has enough power. Sidshows for Honda's, FWD Nissan's, Toyota's, all imports with FWD.

(Caution) This is an illegal act and very addicting like drugs. Hopefully this will spread, Just like car sideshows came from the BAY AREA, so did this so get it right.
