Beats are arguably the most popular pair of headphones out there. Also some of the most expensive. They were designed by a rap/artist that goes by "Dr. Dre" and are only owned by cool kids.

Guy1: "Yo dump that shit pair of headphones ya got there, instead buy urself a pair of beats!!!!"
Guy2: "What's so special about beats anyway, I've tried them and they sound exactly the same as this pair of sony headphones..?"
