cute

A word used mostly by and between girls. Often used as a compliment of some sort about physical appearance or objects - hair, makeup, clothes, shoes - although it cannot be determined whether it is authentic or insulting, unless you are a girl.

Girls rarely/never use the word cute when talking about guys. There are many other words for that.

<screams>Oh My God!!! Your purse is soooooooo CUTE!</screams>

Overheard: "I was deciding which outfit to wear when going out: my cute pair of high heels... with this cute skirt and cute top..."

When a guy is cute but not full of himself as a "hot cute" guy would be. He is responsible, respectful, loyal, and caring.

cute as a bug's ear

cute in a family way; the way Homer Simpson describes Lisa Simpson to her in "Lisa the Beauty Queen" in season 4 of the Simpsons, one of the sweetest shows ever. for a female to say about an unrelated male would be to call that guy completely queer. for a guy to say about an unrelated girl would be for the boy to call himself completely gay. for a male to call a related male cute as a bug's ear would be messed up.

daughter: i'm ugly
father: no you're cute as a bug's ear
daughter: dads have to say that
father: dad, am i cute as a bug's ear?
grandfather: no

(N): It is a contagious disease most commonly associated with care bears and the excitement of something cute. Sufferer's usually complain of being followed by rainbows and/or shouted at by small people.

(ADJ): A word to descibe someone or something as being overly cute.
