Sole Speaking Officer Rule

Sole Speaking Officer Rules are common sense policing reforms that require that only one police officer present at an encounter with a suspect be allowed to give orders to that suspect. This is particularly important to limit the escalation of tense police encounters where a suspect struggles with trying to comply with contradictory commands shouted at him by multiple officers. If you watch recorded encounters between debilitated and scared suspects and law enforcement, a trend you will often see is one where several officers respond, each shouting orders at the suspect, (often when pointing firearms at them) that conflict with each other. Sole Speaking Officer Rules seek to reduce injury and death by requiring that law enforcement conduct themselves in a more professional manner that does not frustrate and confuse suspects that are willing to comply.

We need Sole Speaking Officer Rules adopted by more police departments.

speak potable

The term "speak potable" originates from the Italian peninsula; it is a coined expression to convey the need for a more fluid and understandable conversation, akin to potable water. If someone "speaks potable," it means they are proficient in expressing themselves well in the language.

Example 1:

Rizu: "I'm preparing a presentation for tomorrow's meeting."
Slurp: "Make sure to speak potable; we need to be clear with all the details."

Example 2:
Slurp: "I overheard their discussion, but they didn't seem to speak potable at all."
Rizu: "It's important to communicate clearly, especially in important conversations."

The baby talk people use when they speak to and pet a dog. The people immediately talk to the dog like it's a little baby even though the dog can't understand them. canine crazy, feline fanatic, pet parents, dog, canine, pet, man's best friend

I get so annoyed when people walk up to my dog and use puppy speak. He's not a little baby people and he can't understand you!

Another way of saying you are masturbating. Although it is mostly used by males it can sometimes be jokingly used by females as well.

"Sorry for taking this long, I ended up speaking to the plumber for 20 minutes"
"Hope you had fun, I don't think I can speak to the plumber for that long"
