unfamiliar friendship

A friendship were neither participants know one and other very well but see eachother frequently. They may understand eachother and have some mutual interests while not knowing many things about the others' personal life.

You see that guy with the great hair over there?

That's my unfamiliar friend. He is pretty rad.
I wish I had one of those. How long have you guys had an unfamiliar friendship?
About two years actually.
