skitching the wagon

A period of deliberate abstinence from alcohol to assuage concerns that the subject is an alcoholic, only to resume drinking the moment no one is looking. The act of faking sobriety.

Derived from 'skitching' (skate hitching, i.e. grabbing onto a car for momentum while skateboarding or rollerblading) and the 'wagon' metaphor for sobriety (on the wagon, fall off the wagon, etc).

"Happy Humpday, Bill. Skitching the wagon again, I see."
"I haven't had so much as an O'Doul's in days. If these goddamn inspectors aren't out of here by Monday, I'm gonna lose my fuckin' mind."
"Wanna smell my flask? There's nothing in it, but-"

slicing glass

A slang term for wasting time. Originated from the game Modern Warfare, in which you can blow out windows and, if there are small pieces of glass still in the window frame, you can use your knife to slice out the little pieces. The activity does not have any point and is useless in the game, therefore it wastes time.

Kyle: "Hey what's up?"
Blake: "Nothin, just slicing glass. I'm frikkin bored man."

Random Sinchling is when 2 or more people start singing and/or whistling at the exact same time, without any prior organisation or communication, whilst listening to a song.

I had a random sinchling moment with my brother in the car yesterday, I'm always freaked out by how many random sinchling moments I have with other people.
