Hardcore Techno

Normally called "hardcore" to simplify, it was derived from techno as Europeans grew to like the aggressive tones and melodies. It originated in around the early-to-mid-1990s in multiple locations across the world. Hardcore is usually composed using music sequencers and many earlier tracks were produced on home computers. As hardcore continues to grow, each different type of hardcore (each subgenre) begins to attract a larger fan base and more support from producers. As new subgenres grow they can become extremely different than other subgenres that are also referred to as Hardcore. Not to be mistaken for Happyhardcore or happy, people use the term Hardcore Techno in the UK to describe it & separate from the more happy scene. It is mainly used in the harder rooms in the UK & has been one of the only styles of underground music that is still going strong to this day. Hardcore in different countrys as with all other styles has a slightly different meaning but is one of the only styles that dose what it says on the tin! UK hardcore can be quite dark sounding and is often mixed with hip-hop, The Deathchant Label is a good example of this. go to hardcore-central dot net for more

Beatdown Hardcore

Beatdown/Moshcore/Tough Guy Hardcore is a sub genre of Hardcore Punk. It focuses on slow downtuned Entombed style riffing and breakdowns. Mostly it's just mosh parts for dudes to crowd kill and fail their arms too. As a genre, it's so far removed from Hardcore Punk as there is literally no Punk in it. Bands included: Never Ending Game, Pain of Truth, Shattered Realm, Drain, Throwdown, Earth Crisis, 100 Demons, Bury Your Dead, Sunami, Bulldoze, etc.

I told you I was hardcore

The last words typed by Brandon Veda, a young man who committed suicide by drug and medication overdose, live on webcam while he conversed with people on IRC who encouraged him.
If you OD on drugs while on IRC with people who didn't think you'd do it, say "I told you I was hardcore" to prove your toughness. Then die.

Hardcore Henry

One of the most unique action movies ever to grace humanity in the last century.

It follows Henry, a mute cyborg who has to save his girlfriend or something from an emo dude who can fly and do crazy shit.

It is shot entirely in a first-person perspective and is a blast to watch.
Hey dude, wanna watch Hardcore Henry on YouTube, it's amazing!

Why wouldn't I? I nutted everywhere when I saw it in theaters when it came out.

Emotive hardcore

This is what emo really stands for, it is short for emotive hardcore. A subgenre of hardcore Punk that formed in Washington in 1985, which also has it's roots in indie rock. In 1984 a band called Minor Threats idea, a Minor Threat fan called Guy Picciotto formed a band called Rites of Spring. This turned out to be the first emo band ever, even though they decline the subgenre. Later on other bands like Embrace and Moss Icon joined in and formed a music subgenre called emotive hardcore.

Later on a second wave of emo hit Washington. Bands like Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is The Reason were included. They also decline that they're emo.

Some other real emo bands are

- Indian Summer
- Gray Matter
- I Hate Myself
- The Pine
- Braid
Emo 1: Did you go to Sunny Day Real Estate's concert last night?

Emo 2: Yeah, they were amazing. They are a perfect example of a real second wave emotive hardcore band.

Hardcore Gaming

"Hardcore gaming" is an activity that involves learning every possible maneuver/ability/stage in a videogame not only to win, but to win efficiently, making the fewest mistakes and taking the least amount of time to win. Winning may be collecting items, downing opponents, completing levels etcetera. Winning can be any combination of these goals and may vary depending on the game.

Spending countless hours playing a game may be a result of hardcore gaming, but is not a requirement. Simply playing a game without striving to improve or master the game is not hardcore gaming. That would be casual gaming.

After or near mastery of the game, the player can be called a hardcore gamer for the said game.
(Danny is positioned in front of his television with a controller in his lap.)

Mary: Why is Danny repeatedly playing the same racetrack over and over with different cars? There are many more tracks in that game!

Austin: Well, isn't obvious that he's trying to learn the track and find the car best suited for that track? You don't know much about hardcore gaming, do you Mary?
