Highkey just a more mainstream, "modernised" version of the emo/scene style trend. Characterised by their use of popular social media app Tik-Tok and cartoon-like appearance, these teens and young adults honestly look like they belong in an anime or a K-pop band. While 2005 emos generally listen to pop-punk and alternative rock bands like My Chemical Romance, Panic! At the Disco, Fall Out Boy, etc, these kids (from my experience) commonly listen to what has been dubbed "emo rap" like Lil' Peep, XXX Tentacion (May they both rest in peace.), etc or whatever the hell kids these days listen to.
E-girls/boys basically "borrowed from"(copied) emo, just like emo "borrowed from" punk and goth.
Note: I have nothing against E-girls/boys; I actually think the style is kinda cool.

Get the little boy Emug. Ever seen a guy wearing a mask, dressed in tape joggers, sporting white hair? well if you have, he was probably an e-boy. E-boy's have evolved throughout the years from wearing a striped shirt over a hoodie, gothic eye makeup and wearing nail polish to dressing in varsity jackets, leather trousers,printed pants, tape joggers, military vests, tye-dye trousers, checkered print leggings anything that looks halloween-ish(devil print, skulls, skeletons), big shoes(even yeezys and those boots you only wear when it's cold out) hats, chains, locks and earrings(but of course don't forget your nail polish).
Another big note is you no longer have to be as sad as possible, of course you could try listen to punk rock music but MGK isn't that good anyway (his merch is fire tho)
It's almost hard to escape them now. The e-boy lifestyle can be expensive (trust me, I know) but flexing to your friends is always a plus. If you can't afford it, don't worry a pair of black boots with plaid trousers with a chain,and a leather jacket with your hair parted in two always does the trick.

Get the modern e-boymug. An E-Boy is a boy, usually a fuckboi, who dresses nice; listens to juiceworld, X, and probably Lil Peep every now and then. He has a lot of hoes, but only one or two main hoes. He doesn't know how to appreciate life, and is probably still stuck on an ex that left him, which is why he can't have emotional attachments with any of his hoes. If he does feel as if he's "catching feelings" for someone, he will immediately block them out of his life and move on to the next chick. It's a systematic way of breaking hearts. Anyways, he sucks.
