Fake VHS Openings

A particular type of videos that show intros for VHS tapes that don't exist. While some of them are decently made, a majority of videos are recorded with an external-device (a camcorder or an iPhone), which is of insanely poor quality.

VHS-Beta War

Term to describe a rivalry between two products (e.g. iPhone vs. Blackerry, PlayStation vs. XBox) with the inherent understanding that one will eventually emerge as the superior product.

Derived from the early VCR format war in which VHS emerged the winner over Beta.

I haven't made up my mind yet on whether to buy an iPhone, I'm waiting to see whether iPhone or Blackberry wins this VHS-Beta War.

Prank VHS and DVD openings

Also called "Vyond Prank videos", it's a very controversial type of video in which a person uploads a video (in most locations involve around prank openings with the usage of film/show's cover as a thumbnail). However, it misleads a title and instead shows a edited clip of a clip from another copyrighted franchise, or a repeat of another user's video, and the description only shows saying that viewers have been trolled by this.

This controversial trend have been circulating around YouTube between early-mid 2015, and are still occasionally being uploaded to this very day.

VHS-preview

Refers to where you wish to view a certain motion-picture creation for the first time, but DVDs or BluRay disks of that title are rather pricey, and so you are hesitant to shell out that much when you can't be sure that you would even like the movie all that much, anyway. So what you do is to initially purchase a used VHS tape of said film for just two or three bucks... sure, the tape may be an old worn scratchy thing that doesn't give all that pristine a picture, but at least you will be able to view the movie and see what it's about and how good it is, and then decide if you wanna "upgrade" to a more-costly digital disc of this title.

Now that so many older movie-titles are available on YouTube and other online video-viewing sites, there is often less of a need to perform a VHS-preview of a particular movie, since you may be able to just watch it online, and thus be able to "determine for free" if you want to buy a copy of it on DVD or BluRay.
