Stand Partner

Someone you sit next to in an orchestral setting. These relationships often extend beyond a musical friendship and often can be confused with a more intimate relationship. It is not uncommon for stand partners to share a bed, participate in couples yoga, share food, and cuddle.

"How are you spending your easter vacation?"

A lab or group partner for a school project chosen purely for their superficial beauty. Usually unitelligent and always unhelpful, the trophy partner is the school equivalent to a trophy wife.
