internet osmosis

the passive process by which one learns of something via a. social networks or b. other forms of internet-based informational services. It is key to note that the knowledge in question must be about something one does not have first-hand exposure to and/or experience with.

Used most specifically in reference to second-hand knowledge of internet-based phenomena/culture such as a meme.

Etymology: An adaptation of osmosis as defined as a study method.

"The cake is a lie?" Yeah, I know what that references - I've never played Portal but I learned about that meme through internet osmosis.

A gradual, often unconscious process of assimilation or absorption of the Australian language and/or culture by virtue of spending time with Australian blokes (males) or sheilas (females).

Through the process of ozmosis Jean-Pierre was fond of saying "by jingo by crikey!" everytime he was suprised or dumbfounded.

Olmsted Falls High School

located in olmsted falls, ohio. parents want their kids to go to school there because they think its a good school system, when really its not. theres at least 1 fight every week, and the cops even have to come sometimes! sometimes theres even a food fight! most of the people at ofhs are preppy wannabes, that act like theyre better than everyone else, when really they only have like 5 friends. everyone stereotypes and judges everyone else, so its impossible to ever make a new friend. people always claim to have huge, awesome parties, when really they just end up sitting in their basement with their dog, watching twilight. so lame that when i went to write olmsted falls, i accidentally wrote olmsted fails. no joke.
