larging it

A British slang term describing a boisterous and usually drink-fuelled social state/attitude where persons "larging it" or "larging it up" are loud, noisy and playing around in a good humoured but macho way. Depending on the context, it can also be a way of squaring up against others without physical contact during real confrontations - a little bit like "mentally" sticking one's chest out as a sign of toughness, pretending to be tougher that one really is.

We were out on the town, drinking, larging it up, having a laugh.

When the bouncer grimaced at us and stared me in the eyes outside the nightclub, I went up to him, larging it up, saying, "What's your problem mate ?" He went "Boo !" to me, smiled, and said, "You're alright, you can come in !"

The laughing domino effect

The phenomenon in which when one person in a group commences laughing, the rest will follow. The laughter genuine, and can often last for two to three minutes. Usually, this group is often a)high b)idiots c)have been previously laughing at something else, and is thus easy for the laughter to recommence.

Person A laughs. Person B, C, D, E, and F also laughs. This is the laughing domino effect.

Laughing on the Inside

After sex, the most excellent fellow remains inside his lady friend. He then proceeds to tell a joke. The laughter causes much nether movement, which feels amazing due to post coitus sensitivity.

After a delightful bout of sex-making, the gentleman removes his monocle and says to the lady:
"I say, did you hear the one about the dog in the bar? MOST AMUSING".
The lady then chortles deeply, and the gentleman loses all composure and says "well done".
The butler peeks out from behind a curtain and dryly adds "Sir has madame laughing on the inside."

Laughing Academy

Slang for a psychiatric care facility. Often thought to be taken from the HBO show The Sopranos, but earlier references exist, including usage in Season 2 Episode 2 of Twin Peaks back in 1990.

Dale Cooper: Agent Earle? But he's retired!

Albert Rosenfield: Yeah, I know. To a nice, comfortable chair complete with wrist and ankle restraints at the local laughing academy in D.C.
