A greeting along the lines of the Scottish slang "Hey, cunt!" or the African American slang "Sup, nigga!" wherein one uses a usually derogatory term or insult in a sense of comradery wherein it's not insulting when used between friends or homies.

"Hey shithead!"
"OH MY SHIT!"

What is "Hey Stranger...", you ask. It is when you receive, or send, a message on facebook from someone you have hooked up with or had a relationship with in the past or wanted to but didn't have the opportunity. The opening line of the "hey stranger..." is the socially acceptable way to say, it's been a long time but I am still interested in hooking up if you are.

Have you ever been hey strangered? Have you ever been happy birthday strangered? Change your relationship status to single then get a hey stranger...?

Hey stranger is a phrase as well as a verb...as in "I was hey strangered by my ex-boyfriend from high school"

Hey stranger...how have you been. Heard you are living in Seattle...I am going to be there next month for work, maybe we can meet up.

A term used in the tone of the way Randy Marsh from the American animated comedic-satire series South Park calls to his wife, Sharon Marsh, to get a friend's attention, despite the nature of the word said person is being referred to as, this term is gender neutral.
