(cuh-craw) A word meant for any moment in conversation, i myself prefer to use the phrase instead of "what." Though it can be used for various points in conversation. It even can be used as a reply to hello or as if to say yes. There is great diversity in this word

Tina: Really? Well that's good! *says jokingly*
