Cried wolf is an expression that people use to when someone calls for help when it is not needed and will affect the people to believe that person when they really needed help.

Mom: Sweetie, you've said this before and it never happened.

*Carrie slit her wrists and bled to death in a bathtub.

Mom: I can't believed she killed herself, I should've listened to her, I should've got her helpcried after she cried wolf.
