Er. is a prefix mostly used by 1st year engineering students and pretentious ego centric losers who studied engineering in india and Nepal. They were not getting respect like doctors so they came up with this term.

It helps them to feel better about themselves.

Person1: I finally boosted my chances of getting married and good amount of dowry.
