Something that tackles retail therapy. Allowing you to make purchases and pay for it when you’re okay again.

Pay to Pimp is buying cosmetics to look cooler, like buying skins, weapon camos and clothing for real-life money.
We already use pimp my ride as a slang now we just see it as pimp my character in-game.

Pay to pimp is different to pay to win.
I buy them cosmetics just to pimp out my character. man, Pay to pimp is just better, all for the cosmetics to look cool.

It's another, less significant version of pay-to-win. It might be a free game at first glance, but after playing for a few levels it becomes pay-to-win because things would get increasingly harder which forces you to pay.
Most of these are mobile games, as PC game makers would rather charge you, but iirc some takes form of DLCs.
Capitalism, eh?

Ethan: Dude I cannot break this level it is so goddamn hard!
Me: These MMORPGs are pay-to-progress man, if you don't pay, you just can never break this level. Things that are free are the most expensive, you know.

An argument people in MMORPGs often use to combat critisism (even if intended as kind advice) from other players. While usually associated with Final Fantasy 14 players, it can be seen, albiet less often, with other MMOs due it being able to be used as a general term.
Person 1: Try moving out of the AOE next time. Don't worry about interrupting your casting!
Person 2: Excuse me? You don't pay my sub!
Person 3: *Sarcastic tone* I can give you a subway gift card! *Rimshot*
