1. See the story, hear the story, report the story...accurately.
2. R-E-S-P-E-C-T...find out what it means to me...you, interview subjects, co-workers, random MOS, ranting man that calls the newsroom everyday.
3. I am Miss/Mr Independent! (No, not the Kelly Clarkson song) Don't take bribes, don't date sources, avoid conflicts of interest, be fair and professional.
4. Be accountable! Double check facts, don't get defensive when someone else fact checks, show good taste, and disclose any unavoidable conflicts upfront.

Cute CSI cop: "Hey after I get done investigating this crime scene, would you like to get a drink with me so we can discuss this case in-depth? I have a lot of good details for your story..."
Smart, savvy reporter: "No thanks. I just consulted my 'Emthics' quick-reference guide, and it says that I shouldn't date sources because it could turn into a conflict of interest."

Crazy, ranting person calling the newsroom: "HELLO! IDIOT, WHY DID YOU SHOW A PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE ON YOUR STATION? I DON'T WANT TO SEE MORONS ON TV...YOU'RE A MORON, I'M NEVER WATCHING AGAIN!"
Calm, level-headed, respectful reporter answering phone: "Well, we don't have any control over network programming. We are only a local affiliate. I'm very sorry that you're upset, but you are yelling at the wrong person..."
Crazy, ranting person: "WELL IT'S NOT LIKE I CAN CALL UP CHARLES GIBSON AND TELL HIM HE'S AN IDIOT...IDIOT!"

It is when someone is on vacation an working at the same or means vacation/work combined at the same time with or without good,bad,lying.etc... intentions...

Some people have jobs that require them to work and travel to beautiful places ,but most dont consider it to be a vaction but it kinda is and is a empivay...

I own my own tavel agent biz and it takes me all around the world ,and im paid six figures but i lie to people and say its a job when its really a empivay.

i complain to people about my traveling job but i really love it but i dont want people to know that because it lets me be a empivay and i feel guilty about it.

elphie

n. a selfie taken by a fat girl. Typically, the camera is positioned looking down on the subject from above, allowing the fat chick to hide some of her neck fat, as well as block the view of her belly with her breasts. Combination of the word "selfie" and "elephant." Often used on dating sites and Facebook to decieve unsuspecting male singles.

Originated from a news story that went viral when Canadian tourist Christian LeBlanc had his GoPro snatched by an elephant in Thailand, who then snapped a selfie of himself and Mr. LeBlanc.

I thought I was gonna bag a sexy chick tonight, but turns out all her pictures on Tinder are just a bunch of elphies.

The elphies Kayla had posted to Facebook easily shaved 50 lbs off of her.

Elphies are one of the many reasons to use caution on dating sites.

Only one in every generation. Real definition of smooth and getting money under the radar. So many wanna be Elphin but it's so hard to get on that level of PLAYER. As of 2017 the only Elphin known to Man resides in Los Angeles CA. AND HE's STILL TOO PLAYER
