My observation over a lifetime, is the individual
(1) drinks frequently (almost daily),
(2) becomes inebriated relatively soon after the first or second drink,
(3) continues to drink, sometimes to a state of unconsciousness
(4) knows that they have a problem but won't admit it.
(5) almost always has a ketone acidosis odor on their breath
(6)SAL IS AN ALCOHOLIC IN DENIAL.

Sal drinks too often && is in denial so he is an alcoholic.

Someone who has decided to label themselves in order to obtain special treatment, psychiatric drugs, or join a cult. Also a term used to detach from responsibility and make others responsible for your own problems.

My neighbor is an alcoholic. He’s been sober for three years, doesn’t work, and spends all his disability check on Vegas hookers.

Alcohobligations

When you're already drunk and you're forced to do something best done sober, like driving or public speaking.

#1: Dude, you've had the least to drink, we need you to drive home.
#2: Not happening, way too drunk for alcohobligations.
