Friend Zone 

Supposedly, the "friend zone" is a phenomenon that occurs when a girl you like is friends with you, but will blatantly not date you, resulting in depression/irritation, as the "friend zoned" person feels obligated to date(or have sex with) the other person. Of course, to put simply, this is total bullshit. Women are not vending machines that you can put kindness coins into until dates/sex pops out. THEY DON'T OWE YOU ANYTHING.

Jack: Hey, you alright, Kendall?
Kendall: No.
Jack: Why? What's wrong?
Kendall: Hannah put me in the friend zone. I know she's obligated to have it with me.
Jack: Dude, get over it. It's total bullshit. Women don't owe you shit.

courtesy friend 

Someone you may or may not have met who asks to be your friend or contact on a social networking site, such as Facebook. Out of social obligation, you are compelled to accept the invitation, but you end up hardly or never communicating with the person anyway.

Jim is just a courtesy friend. We went to high school together, and I vaguely remember him being a total loser. I didn't want to insult him, so I just accepted his LinkedIn invitation. I'll just silently unfriend him in a month or so, and he probably won't bother me again.

Silent Friend 

Well, this is a term I came up with meaning if someone joins your MySpace page or whatever social network you use and they just join and not say anything at all to you but yet they want to be your friend.
Makes no kind of sense!

You get a in this case, a MySpace friend request and you add that person and they don't say anything to you at all. That's a Silent Friend.

Clitoral Friend 

That sweet spot of the Venn Diagram between a trusted loyal best friend and the fun times favorite friend (the one you want to spend time with). While the best friend may be who you go to for problems or support or comfort they may not be your first choice on a Saturday booze run. While on the other hand your favorite friend would be the ones you hang out with for good times, they tend to be gossipy and not good with secrets. So the clitoral friend is the sweet sweet mixture of both of these and far superior to either by comparison.

Person 1 "While I do have people I consider best friends and all that, I usually just go by favorite friends, best friends are not necessarily favorites, or sane."
Person 2 "So where am I?"
Person 1 "The sweet spot of the Venn Diagram."
Person 2 "The Clitoris?"
Person 1 "Precisely, you are my Clitoral Friend"

Best Friend 

a person who one distinguishes as someone they are very close to, one they can trust, and one with whom they have fun. It can be considered that a person may have up to three best friends, or may also include a group of three best friends. Therefore, "best" does not just mean only one, and is used as a superlative to express hierarchy. Furthermore, allowing for the song from the comedic film, "The Hangover", to be played and have intrinsic meaning.

We're the three best friends that anybody could have..
