Get the sophisticated flamingo ghetto mongoose dinosaur guy mug.The willful refusal of corporate leadership to acknowledge or adopt emerging technology, trends, or innovations. This often leads to catastrophic business failure. Most commonly found in legacy companies where senior execs are allergic to change and cling to outdated models like it’s still 1995.
Symptoms include:
- Laughing off disruptive startups
- Refusing to invest in digital transformation (including AI)
- Saying things like “This is how we’ve always done it”
- Holding 3-hour meetings to ignore 3-minute solutions
- Exaggerated paranoia about worst case outcomes trying new things.
- Refusal to invest extra money just because it might lower short term profitability and might temporarily upset investors.
