A popular, high capacity mp3 player developed by Apple, reviled by many users of Urban Dictionary as a loathsome object of inexaustible hatred. Despite being nothing more
than a fairly expensive music player, the Ipod appears to have fomented a vicious social conflict unseen since the French Revolution.

Husband: "Honey, I bought you an Ipod for Christmas!"
Wife: "An Ipod!" "You Goddamn prick, I want a divorce."

Some piece of crap that Apple uses to brainwash the youth of North America, Europe, and Asia. usually bought by children aged 11+. They only buy it because:
A) It's sleek deisgn and it's touch sensitive pad wheel
B) They think it's the only way to get to popularity at their school
C) it gives them something to brag about to their friends
D) For guys 15+: It helps them compensate for their excruiciatingly small penis
E) Everyone that surrounds them has one, and they feel they should follow the crowd and talk their parents into buying one for him/her.

terrible mp3 player marketed to ignorent people. being the only mp3 player with commercials and banner ads, people think its the only mp3 player that exists. other mp3 players that are better quality are usually half the price. for example, mp3 players by iriver and creative have features the ipod doesnt like internet radio capabilities.
person1: guess what! my ipod is busted! it keeps telling me to format it and re-upload my songs when ive done that 3 times!

when i first got my ipod for my birthday about 7 months ago i could honestly say i thought it was good. The only problem was the battery life- it lasted about 2 hours. However, 6 months down the line, even more problems are coming up. Battery life has decreased to about an hour, the abstard thing won't let me add new songs and has a shitload of scratches. The songs keep freezing and skipping or restarting. So now i will have 2 fork out another 200 quid 2 replace the bastard.

It doesn't look like many people here like iPods. Remember, kids: Urban Dictionary is a place for definitions, not slander!

A device that many people think is only for music and as a cult symbol, But that is SO not the case! My yellow 4th gen ipod holds my recipies (cuz im a guy who loves to cook Italian) ,my notes for if I want to cheat in school or remember, my music, my podcasts, my videos, and my photos (or porn if your lonely and don't want a PSP), fun little games like solitair or minesweeper, and tells me the time if i seriously need to look at a damn clock cause my ghetto school cant fix a clock.
Plus the ipod is useful (and also intended for) to hold things OTHER then music but teens are to stupid to put there powerpoint or a movie in there and only put emo songs. The Ipod is a good device for 200-400 if you want to use it as a trully mini comp for notes, music, movies, videos, and podcasts and put small hacks and that loud sound that only a few people can hear for pranks!

A popular mp3 player created by apple (the computer company not apple records) witch recieves alot of criticism but manely this is only because many people dont use it properly.
the topic of little battery...: as with most rechargable batteries you need to occasionally completely run it out and leave it on charge for probably 10 hours plus (probably best idea is to put it on charge 12 hours before you get up in the morning and DONT USE IT). therefore the batterie on the next day will last as long as apple say it should.
the topic of too much space...: there are models (the ipod nano or shuffle for example) witch have little space on for the very reason that most people dont have 12 days worth of music and listen to it all (like someone like me does).
the topic of price...: basically your paying for what you get. its like anything, for example, a nice big house willcost more then a un nice small house wont it. your paying for size and quality.its a designer product of the mp3 world
and for the record of how long they last, ive had my 30 gig ipod now for about a year and a half and it hasnt failed me once because i know how to use it.

john: my ipods stopped working
mary: how long hav eyou had it?
john: about 9 months, i suppose they all break after that time.
mary: how often do you charge it?
john: about half an hour a day
mary: you charge it too often with too little, it thinks half an hour makes it full so it leaves it as its standard batterie life.
